Sign up for our first-ever Victoria Walks More!

What is it?
It's a month-long campaign to inspire individuals and communities to walk more every day.
It's about taking steps towards a healthier, happier lives and a cleaner, safer Victoria!
It's about lots of people taking small steps for greater impact.

Why should you sign up?
Find ways to get more activity into your every day.
We'll send you easy-to-follow information that can help you and your family to get moving more often.
Then we'll tally up the extra steps we've taken together for better health and cleaner, happier communities.

Start small and try to build up your walking each month in June 2025.

Walking can play a key role in making people and communities safer, happier and healthier and can also reduce Victoria’s pollution.

People living in Victoria's cities generate a high amount of transport-related pollution, mostly from car trips.

There are 480,000 short car trips (less than 1km) in Melbourne and Geelong every week!

Swapping short vehicle trips can have a really positive impact on our health and on the healthy of our communities.

This is because short car trips create relatively higher emissions, and because they’re the easiest trips to swap!

Swapping half of short vehicle trips to walking (and some longer vehicle trips to walking and PT combined) would save 900,000 tonnes of Co2 emissions in Victoria each year.

Walking more doesn’t just help reduce pollution, it makes us feel better.

Walking improves our physical and mental health and brings communities closer together.

More people walking for short, local trips reduces traffic on our neighbourhood streets.

And walking instead of driving for short reduces traffic chaos around our schools and shops to keep people of all ages and abilities safer.

Join our campaign to:

  • swap a whole trip
  • swap part of a trip
  • swap multiple trips
  • report barriers to walking where you live

By singing up to Victoria Walks More this June, you’re taking steps towards a healthier, happier you (and cleaner, safer communities)
