Congratulations to our winners!
Congratulations to Carolina from Nunawading and to Julie from Mooroolbark whose photos won the prizes in our Winter Walks competition 2018.
Carolina's winning photograph was taken at the "school track" close to the Thousand Steps in the Dandenongs.
She explains:
"In the photo there are my husband and my daughter, 4 years (my two biggest inspirations). We love hiking and are introducing my daughter to it.
"That particular morning there was a mystical atmosphere and the lighting was just perfect. I have done many walks around Victoria, but the Dandenong Ranges has a particular magical energy for me."
Julie's photo was of her grandson Leo exploring the Redwood Forest at Warburton. It was very popular with our Facebook followers! If you'd like to follow in Leo's footsteps, you can find our Redwood Forest walk here.

Thanks to all those who entered our Winter Walking photo competition for 2018. We had well over 100 entries and we've placed many of them into a photo gallery on our Facebook page. 'Like' all the photos that inspire you to get out into the fresh, cold of Victoria's winter before the end of Sunday (August 12th 2018). We'll announce the winner of our People's Choice and Birkenstock prize later in August.
Love walking in winter? Show us why to win!
Walking a is a great way to put a glow in your cheeks over winter, but it's also a beautiful time of year to walk; the sun rises later, the air is crisp and frost blankets surfaces with an icy magic.
This July we want YOU to help capture all that winter offers Victoria's would-be walkers. Don your boots, a scarf, a beanie and pack your camera!
We'll be looking for a photo that celebrates the beauty and joys of walking during Victoria's winter. If possible, include some people (or animals!) walking in your photo; while this is certainly not a condition of winning, it will help!
Snap away, but remember you can only submit one image over the two-week competition period so make sure you send us your very best shot! Entrants must live in Victoria and be aged 18 years or over.
About the prizes
Best Winter Walks photo: The winning photographer will win a voucher worth $250 to spend on comfy and stylish shoes at Birkenstock's stores in Melbourne (or at their online shop).
Walkers' Choice: The judges will shortlist their favourite entries for a Facebook album at our page. The photo that attracts the most 'Likes' between Tuesday August 7th and Sunday August 12th 2018 will win a $100 voucher to spend at Coles/Myer, or at Dymocks or at JB HiFi.
How to enter:
The competition entry runs for two weeks (July 19th - August 1st 2018)
