We are a group of Ashwood residents who actively promote and advocate for better open space for children, teenagers and adults in the local area. Our aim is to encourage more active healthy lifestyles and to make our streets, reserves, and outdoor areas safe, better for walking and creative beautiful places to be.
We are currently in the process of negotiating with the City of Monash to increase opportunities for the local community to access and hire the newly built Electra Community Centre and to upgrade the children’s playground at the High Street Road end of Electra Reserve. We hope to develop the area so that it is a safer and more creative play space that can be accessed by all of the community. We would like to see a fence erected to protect children from the road and suitable sun shading, public toilets, BBQs and permanent public adult exercise equipment dotted around the reserve to encourage people to get out and be active.
