Thanks for putting your hand up to help staff in your workplace to improve their health and well-being.  It's great to have your support and enthusiasm!  We've put together these resources to make your job as easy as possible.

Step Up at Work is a series of 5 activities over 5 weeks to help employees become more active at work.  We've designed the activities so that they are simple to organise, fun and social.

Each activity comes with 'How to' instructions, stories to inspire people to try them out, feedback form, tips and resources.  In addition, there is a preparation checklist, calendar schedule, email template and report template to help you along the way (see links at the bottom of the page).

These resources are intended as a guide only - please modify them to make sure they are suitable for your workplace and circumstances.  The key thing to remember is to keep it simple, light hearted and fun.

Before you get started

Don't forget to consult your manager, CEO, Human Resources or Occupational Health and Safety staff to get their support and 'go ahead' before you get started.  Here are a few suggestions to encourage them to throw their weight behind you:

  • Show them the Step Up at Work information sheet
  • Tell them about the business benefits of an active workplace.
  • Get their input and ideas about how Step Up at Work can be applied at your workplace.
  • Involve them in as many activities as possible - they are important role models.
  • Keep them informed about what you're doing as well as the successes and results.
