Streets4Living is a 1 year project aimed at creating a space at Phyllis St/Warruga Ave. that encourages people to meet, connect and get around by walking & cycling. It has come out of a partnership involving local groups, residents, the Victorian Government, Knox City Council and Knox Community Health Service. It is the first stage of a community vision developed for Bayswater West and this partnership is working towards this area becoming a great neighbourhood hub for all. The Welcoming Bayswater Street party celebrates Social Inclusion Week. The party aims to encourage people to get to know each other, connect with neighbourhood & be a part of this fantastic community and activities of Bayswater. It also seeks to encourage people to walk, cycle or take public transport when getting around locally, so we encourage you to find creative ways to get there (or part way there) without a car.
There is still time to get actively involved by…
running a stalls, food demonstration to promote your culture, performances, sponsoring the event or donating prizes or products for competitions, organising a walk or cycle from your street, school or group venue to attend the party, or just being there to meet and build networks with others in the community (so talk to us if you are interested)
Remember this event is run by and for the Bayswater Community so the more who get involved the better it will be!!
Make sure you are part of the fun:
