Reshaping the street as coronavirus response

27 Jul 2020

Victoria Walks is collaborating with Arup and VicHealth to host a webinar for councils on pilots and trials to reshape streets in response to Covid-19 and the need for physical distancing.

Cities around the world are looking for short-term, low-cost interventions that can catalyse long term change to improve the experience for people who walk or bike, while making our streets and centres an attractive place to be. How can we do this here in Melbourne and other Australian cities?

The webinar, facilitated by our own Ben Rossiter, will feature:

  • Sophie Cranburn, Principal Architect and Masterplanner at Arup UK.
  • Fatima Mohamed, Director Metropolitan Central - Transport and Planning at the Victorian Department of Transport.
  • Andrew Reynolds, Senior Urban Designer at Arup in Melbourne.
